This presentation delves into the intricate relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the field of law, primarily examining its predominantly negative impact while acknowledging its limited positive potential. We analyze the ways in which AI has disrupted traditional legal practices, leading to increased efficiency but also raising concerns over job displacement and ethical considerations. We also explore how AI-driven  algorithms in the criminal justice system have influenced sentencing disparities and privacy issues. Despite these challenges, the presentation uncovers some promising applications of AI in legal
technology and access to justice initiatives, illustrating its potential to alleviate certain legal inefficiencies. Through a comprehensive review of data, this presentation aims to foster a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding AI's role in the world of law, urging a balanced approach that harnesses the benefits while mitigating its adverse consequences.
